NetTeller: There has been a problem during transit - Windows Vista
Solution

If you are receiving this message in Windows Vista with Internet Explorer, it is due to the higher level of security that is set by default. In order to install a digital certificate for Internet Explorer in Windows Vista, you need to add stcu.org to Trusted Sites, and temporarily lower the security settings for Internet Explorer. Once the certificate is installed, you will be instructed at the end of this article to reset your security level to the higher default level. Follow the steps below to make the necessary changes.

  1. Close down all instances of Internet Explorer and all programs, so that you are at your Desktop with nothing else open.
  2. Go to the Windows Control Panel.
  3. If available in the left menu area, choose the Classic View option.
  4. Double-click to open Internet Options.
  5. Click on the Security tab.
  6. Click on the Trusted sites icon.
  7. Click on the Sites button.
  8. In the Trusted sites window, place a check mark in the 'Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone' checkbox.
  9. Type https://www.stcu.org in the 'Add this website to the zone:' field and click the Add button.
  10. Type https://secure.stcu.org in the 'Add this website to the zone: field and click the Add button.
  11. Click the Close button to close the Trusted sites window.
  12. In the Trusted sites Security zone, uncheck the 'Enable Protected Mode' option.
  13. Click the Custom level... button.
  14. In the Reset custom settings area, select 'Low' from the Reset to: drop-down field, and then click the Reset... button.
  15. Click Yes when prompted with the warning message: 'Are you sure you want to change the settings for this zone?'
  16. Click the OK button to close the Security Settings window.
  17. While still on the Security tab, click on the Internet zone icon.
  18. In the 'Security level for this zone' area, lower the setting to Medium using the slider bar.
  19. Uncheck the 'Enable Protected Mode' option.
  20. Click the Apply button. You will receive a warning about putting your computer at risk. Please OK this message, as this is only a temporary modification in order to install your certificate.
  21. Click the OK button to close the Internet Properties window.

After you have completed these steps, reopen Internet Explorer, and try to log in to NetTeller. If you were trying to install a digital certificate, please follow the instructions to install the digital certificate.

If the certificate installs properly, you will be presented with the Account Summary screen in NetTeller. Log off of NetTeller using the Log Off link. Close down Internet Explorer completely. Go back in to Internet Options as instructed previously. On the Security tab, click the Internet zone icon, and then click the Default level button to restore the higher security settings for this zone. Click OK to close Internet Options, bring up Internet Explorer and login to NetTeller again. You should now be taken to your Account Summary successfully.
