'You should enable Add-ons to request certificate' message
Solution

Important note: If you receive this message with Windows 7 or with Windows Vista and Internet Explorer 8, there is no workaround. You will need to use your security questions to access your accounts at this time.

If you are using Windows XP and Internet Explorer 7, you may receive the following message when you attempt to install a new digital certificate.

You should enable Add-ons to request certificate.
Please, follow the instructions:

The steps presented refer to Cenroll class, and following the steps do not allow you to successfully install your certificate. In order to install a digital certificate, follow the steps below.

  1. Close down all instances of Internet Explorer and all programs, so that you are at your Desktop with nothing else open.
  2. Go to the Windows Control Panel.
  3. Double-click to open Internet Options.
  4. Click on the Security tab.
  5. Click on the Trusted sites icon.
  6. Click on the Sites button.
  7. In the Trusted sites window, place a check mark in the 'Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone' checkbox.
  8. Type https://www.stcu.org in the 'Add this website to the zone:' field and click the Add button.
  9. Type https://secure.stcu.org in the 'Add this website to the zone: field and click the Add button.
  10. Click the Close button to close the Trusted sites window.
  11. In the Trusted sites Security zone, click the Custom level... button.
  12. In the Reset custom settings area, select 'Low' from the Reset to: drop-down field, and then click the Reset... button.
  13. Click Yes when prompted with the warning message: 'Are you sure you want to change the settings for this zone?'
  14. Click the OK button to close the Security Settings window.
  15. Click on the Internet icon.
  16. In the Internet Security zone, click the Custom level... button.
  17. In the Reset custom settings area, select 'Medium' from the Reset to: drop-down field, and then click the Reset... button.
  18. Click Yes when prompted with the warning message: 'Are you sure you want to change the settings for this zone?'
  19. Click the OK button to close the Security Settings window.
  20. Click the OK button to close the Internet Properties window.

After you have completed these steps, reopen Internet Explorer, log in to NetTeller, and follow the instructions to install the digital certificate.

Important Note: If you receive this message with Internet Explorer on Windows Vista, AND if the steps above do not allow you to install the digital certificate, you will need to access your accounts using the security questions at this time. We are still researching this issue with our vendor and do not have a resolution at this time.
